Christopher Sorensen (Silicon Valley)
Chris is a veteran of numerous early stage companies including MediaShare, On-Ex.com, InsureQuote.com, Art.com, RocketCheck.com and Who2Know.com. He has extensive hands on experience with all aspects of early stage business development including, technology design, business strategy, partnership development, executive leadership, sales and marketing.
Chris has designed business strategies and written business plans that have helped raise over $20 million for early stage companies. As the Director of e-Strategy and a key member of the management team at Art.com, Chris developed the initial business plan used to raise over $14 million in venture capital from top tier investors including Benchmark Capital and Softbank Ventures. He was instrumental in the design and execution of the business strategy that created the premier web site for buying art on the web. CIO Magazine selected Art.com as one of the Top 50 Web Sites of 1999, which was under Chris' supervision. Art.com was sold to Getty Images in June of 1999 for $115 million.
Prior to his work with start-ups, Chris was with Andersen Consulting, where he helped to design and launch the Advanced Technology Group. Chris holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics and an MBA in Finance from the University of Illinois and a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence from the Institute of Learning Sciences at Northwestern University.
